TREATMENT TERMS
15. Scope of These Treatment Terms
These terms apply to all treatments, consultations, and in-clinic services performed by Lume at our Paddington location or at external partner venues. By booking or attending an appointment, you agree to these terms.
16. Bookings, Rescheduling & Cancellations
Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is displayed during the online booking process and forms part of these Terms. By completing a booking, you agree to the policy as stated. Late arrivals may result in a shortened treatment; the full fee applies.
17. Health Information & Client Obligations
To ensure treatments are safe and suitable, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete health information.
- Notify us of any changes to your health, medications, pregnancy, or recent skin treatments before your appointment.
- Ask if you are unsure whether something is relevant.
Lume is not liable for reactions or outcomes where information has been withheld or is incomplete.
18. Informed Consent
Our treatments may involve:
- Non-invasive modalities such as manual techniques, active skincare formulations, oxygen and airflow tools, temperature-based elements, LED light, and ultrasonic exfoliation.
- Minimally invasive techniques such as acupuncture and microneedling, performed only when clinically appropriate.
- Active chemical exfoliation, including gentle peels.
These modalities are widely used and considered safe when performed by trained practitioners, though temporary responses such as mild redness or sensitivity may occur. Some treatments may require a separate consent form, which must be completed before the session.
By proceeding with treatment, you acknowledge that you understand the nature of the treatment and will communicate any discomfort during the session.
19. Treatment Expectations
Every client's skin and body respond uniquely. While our team applies professional judgement and care, we do not guarantee specific results or timeframes. We may modify or decline a treatment if it is not appropriate for your current condition.
20. Aftercare Responsibility
Aftercare advice is provided following treatment. You understand that outcomes may vary if this guidance is not followed. Lume is not responsible for issues arising from non-adherence.
21. Contraindications
For safety, Lume may decline or adjust a treatment if you:
- Present with illness or infection
- Have a skin condition or medication interaction that makes treatment unsuitable
- Have compromised skin or recent sunburn
- Are under the influence of alcohol or impairing substances
22. Behaviour & Personal Items
Clients are expected to behave respectfully toward staff and maintain appropriate conduct. Lume is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items.
23. Liability for In-Clinic Services
To the extent permitted by Australian law, Lume is not liable for:
- Reactions caused by withheld or incomplete health information
- Responses connected to not following aftercare guidance
- Outcomes outside the scope of the treatment performed
Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
