Japanese Cotton Face Cloth
Japanese Cotton Face Cloth
Woven in Imabari, Japan, Kontex cloths reflect generations of craftsmanship in the region synonymous with the finest towel-making in Japan. The Claire Face Cloths are dual-sided, soft to touch, highly absorbent, and quick-drying.
One side is woven gauze cotton and linen; the other is a soft organic cotton terry pile combining exceptional absorbency with softness and comfort. Each piece is slowly loomed using traditional techniques that preserve the softness and integrity of the fibres. After weaving, every Kontex towel is gently washed in melted snow flowing from the slopes of Mt. Ishizuchi to thoroughly remove contaminants from the cotton fibers without needing harsh chemicals.
Why You'll Love It:
Kontex has been weaving towels in Imabari since 1934, on traditional low-speed looms. The yarn is loosely twisted rather than tightly wound, which increases absorbency and means the towel becomes softer with every wash.
Available in two colour ways, the Lile and Claire towels are soft to touch, highly absorbent, and quick-drying.
The Claire towels in almond are 98% cotton and 2% linen.
The Lille Towels in ivory have a delicate beige chevron pattern and are 95% cotton and 5% linen.
